Not necessarily. It is important to be healthy, not frail. Of course, there are health risks associated with being overweight. With age, what matters is how active one is and whether one can do all your everyday activities. It’s less about what you weigh and more about how much of your weight is muscle instead of fat. Your doctor can advice if your weight is on track, in light of your age and overall health.
