Releasing the Power of Movement – World Physiology Day Celebration

At Marengo CIMS Hospital, we observed World Physiotherapy Day on 8th September with vigour and zest, celebrating the strength of movement and the physiology of our body’s amazing abilities. The event was centred around how to demonstrate effortless yet powerful exercises that improve strength, mobility, endurance, and well-being. Every single activity was intentionally selected to feature how knowledge about physiology can enable us to avoid injury, enhance everyday function, and enhance quality of life.

The festivity included fun sessions with exercises like Sit-to-Stand for strengthening legs and independence, Balance Board and Bosu Ball One-Leg drills for enhancing coordination, core stability, and posture, and Duck Walks with Dumbbells to increase thigh and glute strength. They also learned how Planks can contribute to core fitness and spinal support, as well as entertaining, high-energy exercises such as Jumping Jacks with a Stepper to improve cardiovascular conditioning and endurance. Each demonstration emphasized how these exercises transfer into everyday benefits — ranging from avoiding falls to improving athletic performance.

Through the integration of Physiotherapy and real-world fitness, Marengo CIMS Hospital put across the idea that healthcare is not just treatment but also prevention, resilience, and strength. The event inspired participants to adopt physical fitness as a way of life, engaging them to be in control of their health by adopting every day, evidence-based habits. Through this campaign, the hospital continued to demonstrate its dedication to creating awareness, promoting healthy living, and motivating the community to learn and appreciate the science of the human body.
