Program Description

CIMS Advanced Interventional Cardiology Fellowship (Post DM and DNB Cardiologist) is a two-year new training program that provides a broad-based learning experience in all aspects of interventional cardiology. Trainees receive high-quality education in patient evaluation, technical performance of simple and complex interventional procedures and post-procedural management, as well as opportunities for clinical research.

CIMS Hospital Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory is a state-of-the-art facility with two rooms dedicated to interventional cardiology. The lab is staffed by 9 interventional and 2 pediatric cardiologists. Over 6,000 diagnostic procedures and 1,500 to 2,000 percutaneous coronary interventions are performed annually (same as Cleveland Clinic / Mayo Clinic). Routine procedures include:

  • Intracoronary stenting
  • Rotational atherectomy
  • Saphenous vein graft intervention
  • Primary and rescue PCI for acute myocardial infarction
  • Chronic total occlusion revascularization (CART, reverse CART)
  • Carotid stenting
  • Intravascular ultrasound
  • Fractional and coronary flow reserve
  • Peripheral artery balloon angioplasty and stenting
  • Balloon mitral valvuloplasty
  • Balloon aortic valvuloplasty
  • Left atrial appendage closure
  • Pulmonary vein stenting
  • Septal alcohol ablation
  • Percutaneous repair of paraprosthetic regurgitation
  • Closure of patent foramen ovale
  • Percutaneous pulmonary valve implantation (Melody)
  • Atrial Septostomy
  • Complex invasive hemodynamic studies (Millars, exercise)
  • Complex / Simple Congenital Pediatric & Adult Intervention

Eligibility: Post DM and DNB cardiologist

Maximum of three (3) applicants will be selected for the program.

Course Duration: Full time for 2 years

Course Stipend: CIMS hospital will offer stipend/ monthly salary as per hospital policy.
